Paint a fish to save our fish stocks!
1 – Draw and paint a fish in a blank sheet of paper or on one of the templates provided. (We
encourage kids to be creative and draw and colour a blank page!)
2 – On the front of the paper write: first name (only), age, and location.
3 – Scan or take a digital picture of the fish drawing/s and upload it onto www.paintafish.org
Alternatively you can email it to paintafish@neweconomics.org
4 – If you don’t have a scan or can’t upload/email the paintings please send the original pictures
to: nef “Paint a Fish”, 3 Jonathan St, SE11 5NH, London – and we’ll upload them on the web
site for you.
5 – If you have uploaded/emailed the paintings on the site; we also encourage you to send the
original pictures to: nef “Paint a Fish”, 3 Jonathan St, SE11 5NH, London. This makes it more
likely that your painting is featured in future activities and/or materials (reports, exhibitions, etc)

MANY THANKS !!!About Paint a Fish
The Paint a Fish campaign aims at engaging the younger generation in the protection of fish
stocks. Kids from across the UK are encouraged to paint a fish to refill our fish stocks.
All the pictures of fish will be uploaded onto a web site to build a “virtual fish stock” that will
call on UK and EU leaders to protect fish stocks and end overfishing.
The more pictures we collect, the bigger the virtual fish stock gets and the louder the voice of
our younger generations becomes – as does the likelihood of being able to eat fish in the
future.
nef with the help of other organisations has been piloted the paint a fish activity in the UK
during the summer (2012) to finesse the idea and to start "growing the stock of fish". We are
now reaching out to schools across the UK and the EU who might be interested to take on the
Paint a Fish activity.
Later in the Autumn we will launch the campaign publicly. We are also in the process of
designing various activities and materials with the paintings received including competitions,
exhibitions, calendars, etc.
Be one of the first ones to help to build this virtual fish stock and support the campaign.
